SAVE Ortega y Gasset Projects -
Emergency Fundraiser
Last December, we launched a fundraiser auction with Paddle8. We chose to work with Paddle8 because of its reputation as a reliable platform for non-profit organizations to raise essential funds. We were shocked to learn that Paddle8 recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Paddle8 did not pay out any of the proceeds from our fundraiser, totaling $11,972. Factoring in our expenses for hosting a brick-and-mortar exhibition of the lots, we estimate a loss of $13,000.
The money collectors paid for the artwork was never paid to us.
Ortega y Gasset Projects is now listed as a creditor with the court system. It is unlikely that we will receive the full amount due. Whatever amount granted by the courts will not come for another 9-12 months.
This turn of events is devastating. Fundraiser proceeds are a significant amount of our annual operating budget. This is an especially untimely outcome, as we also suffer repercussions from the COVID-19 pandemic. Our programming and channels of revenue have been gravely diminished. We are hurting. Our heart goes out to fellow cultural institutions that have also been impacted.
We humbly ask you to consider supporting OyG Projects at this difficult time. ANY AMOUNT WILL HELP - $1, $5, $25, $50, $100, $250, $500, $1000, $2500, $5000...
